Description

45 inches long. This lot features a contemporary reproduction swept-hilt rapier designed in the Renaissance style. The sword is constructed with a long, slender, polished steel blade featuring a deep central fuller that originates at the ricasso. The hilt assembly is finished in a uniform matte black coating and consists of a complex swept-guard with multiple rings and forward-curving quillons, a textured black grip, and a globose pommel. No manufacturer names, stamps, or country-of-origin marks are discernible on the blade or hilt components. The accompanying black scabbard is composed of a leather or synthetic body with a black metal throat and chape.
