Description

22 inches high. A floor-standing candle stand featuring a dark, aged finish. The piece is constructed with a central wrought iron rod mounted onto a flared, conical tin base. The rod terminates in a looped iron handle at the top. The primary functional component is a friction-fit, sliding double-arm bracket. One side of the bracket supports a cylindrical metal candle socket, which holds a single cream-colored taper candle. The opposing side of the bracket holds a matching conical metal snuffer with a small knob finial. This bracket assembly can be adjusted vertically along the central shaft to alter the height of the light source. A curved iron hook is also integrated into the sliding mechanism. The candle itself is a previously burned wax taper with a charred wick and a matte, aged finish. There are no maker’s marks, signatures, or labels visible on the base, shaft, or brackets.
