Description
This American-made manual hand-crank butter churn features a square-sided clear glass jar with a capacity of four quarts. The jar is embossed on one side with circular text reading DAZEY CHURN & MFG CO. NO 40 MADE IN ST. LOUIS U.S.A. centered around a logo, with the text 4 QT embossed directly above. The mechanical assembly consists of a cast metal frame secured to a circular metal screw-on lid. The cranking mechanism utilizes a large vertical gear driving a smaller horizontal pinion gear to rotate the internal dasher. The dasher is constructed with four wooden paddle blades attached to a vertical metal rod. The hand crank features a curved metal arm cast with the characters 40 HP and is fitted with a turned wooden handle grip.Measurements/notes: 6 in. L x 14 in. H.
