Description
A 19th-century Danish Model 1867 Remington Rolling Block saber bayonet featuring a curved steel yataghan-style blade with a single wide fuller. The hilt is constructed with a contoured black leather or composite grip secured by five steel rivets, a steel pommel with a press-button release, and a steel crossguard featuring a forward-sweeping hooked quillon and a muzzle ring. The blade ricasso is stamped with the maker’s name in an upward arc reading ALEX COPPEL over the straight line SOLINGEN. The crossguard bears an impressed serial number 67295 on one side, and the reverse side is stamped with the unit marking 3AB. A small circular indentation marked with the letter P is visible on the steel pommel.Measurements/notes: 27.5 in. L.
