Description
A solid spherical projectile manufactured from cast iron. The object features a dark, matte surface typical of period ordnance, characterized by a textured and pitted exterior resulting from the casting process and subsequent aging. The sphere is solid in construction, showing no evidence of a fuse hole or seam, consistent with solid shot designs intended for use in smoothbore artillery. A white string is secured to the surface with blue adhesive tape for identification purposes. There are no maker marks, stamps, or inscriptions visible on the surface of the object.Measurements/notes: 3 in. round.
