Description
This vintage rectangular wooden storage box is consistent in form with a U.S. military M1917 ammunition chest. The box is constructed with finger-jointed corners and features a lid hinged at one end, secured by a metal latch at the opposite end. A metal strap handle is mounted within a recessed channel on the top surface. The exterior retains a distressed dark olive-drab paint finish, heavily obscured by irregular white paint splatters on all sides. The interior shows natural wood grain with signs of use but contains Approximately 17 1/4 inches in length.
