Description
A collection of silver-plated souvenir spoons featuring various travel and regional themes. One spoon includes a rectangular enameled finial depicting a mountain scene labeled MT. MCKINLEY and a bowl engraved with a map of Alaska. Its reverse stem is stamped with a mark reading W.A.W. followed by three indistinct symbols and SILVER PLATED. Two spoons feature shell-inlaid handles printed with the text T.S.S. MARDI GRAS, and their reverse stems are stamped JAPAN within a rectangular border. A spoon with a circular enameled finial displays a map of the Isle of Skye with the Gaelic text EILEAN A CHEO and local place names including PORTREE and DUNVEGAN; the reverse stem is stamped SILVERPLATED. The final spoon commemorates Dollywood, featuring an openwork handle with a dangling gold-tone guitar charm and a bowl engraved with a map of Tennessee listing cities like NASHVILLE and MEMPHIS. This spoon is also stamped JAPAN within a rectangular border on the reverse. The spoons measure between approximately 4 inches and 4.5 inches in length.
