Description
A vintage American cast iron Dutch oven with a coordinating self-basting lid and a wire bail handle. The deep circular vessel features two integral side tabs with loops that secure a wire bail handle. The exterior base is marked with a raised numeral 8 at the top edge. The domed lid features an interior field of pointed conical basting drips arranged in a radial pattern. The center of the lid interior is marked with embossed characters including 10 1/4 at the top, the letter G to the left, and the number 8 at the bottom. The piece is constructed of heavy cast iron and is presented in as-found condition.
