Description
An opaque turquoise blue pressed glass candlestick featuring a dolphin-form pedestal. The piece is constructed with a flared candle cup designed with petal-like scalloped edges. This socket is supported by a stem modeled as a stylized dolphin with molded scales and fins, its tail curled upward to meet the base of the cup. The figure rests upon a tiered base composed of a circular gadrooned ring situated atop a stepped octagonal foot. The material is a consistent light blue opaque glass, commonly referred to as blue milk glass or opaline. The interior of the base is smooth and finished in the same opaque blue glass.
