Description
This assortment of mid-20th century American fishing equipment includes a variety of lures, terminal tackle, and accessories. A lure with a black upper body and pale underside features a metal lip stamped FINLAND, RAPALA, and DEEP DIVER (Photo 2). The collection includes an original retail box from the HOLDEN LINE CO., Cleveland 13, Ohio, for a RED AND WHITE SPECIAL lure, listing models SOURPUSS 606-F and BUTCH 756-S (Photo 4). Two crawler harnesses are presented on their original black cards, printed with ART BEST’S CRAWLER HARNESS, BEST TACKLE CO., Sebewaing, Michigan, and a retail price of 40c (Photo 4). A novelty bobber is fashioned from a miniature metal can labeled Miller HIGH LIFE The Champagne of Beers (Photo 5). A fishing line spool bears a red and white label for WRIGHT and MCGILL NYL-YANK, 15 lb test (Photo 1). The group includes a yellow wooden lure with dark spots and metal propellers between its two body segments, accompanied by a handwritten note identifying it as a Globe Pflueger (Photo 3). Another lure with a green scale pattern is accompanied by a note reading Shurestrike O-style wabbler (Photo 2).
