Description
A collection of mid-20th century foreign currency and ephemera. The currency selection features multiple banknotes, including a green 1954 series Bank of Canada one-dollar note, serial N/B 3418274, with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and printed signatures of Deputy Governor J.R. Beattie and Governor L. Rasminsky. Bank of Korea currency includes a green 100 Won note (serial H00339281 U) with a portrait of a bearded man in traditional dress, a tan 10 Won note (serial 184) depicting the Cheomseongdae observatory, and a purple 1 Won note (serial H3352971). The archive includes a collection of photographs, featuring four black and white studio portraits in Art Deco-style cardboard frames depicting a woman and children in western-style cowboy attire. Several loose snapshots are present, showing military personnel in uniform, beach scenes, and domestic outdoor images.
