An assortment of mid-20th-century children’s books, primarily hardcovers with pictorial boards. The collection includes Whitman series fiction such as Donna Parker, Special Agent by Marcia Martin and Walt Disney?s Annette: The Desert Inn Mystery (1961) by Doris Schroeder. Several Little Golden Books are present, including Walt Disney?s Swiss Family Robinson, Walt Disney?s Jiminy Cricket: Fire Fighter (A Mickey Mouse Club Book), Our World (No. 242), Captain Kangaroo and the Panda (No. 278), and About the Seashore (No. 288). These volumes are constructed with paper-covered boards and characteristic patterned silver foil spines, with cover prices of 25 cents and 45 cents. The collection also includes two small-format volumes by Beatrix Potter, The Tale of Peter Rabbit and The Tale of Mr. Tod, published by F. Warne & Co. Additionally, there is A.A. Milne?s Christopher Robin Gives Pooh a Party with illustrations by Ernest Shepard, a volume of Heidi, and A Suitcase with a Surprise by Miss Frances from the Ding Dong School series published by Rand McNally.
