Description
This silver gelatin panoramic photograph, commonly known as a yard long, depicts a large group of attendees at the Annual Clam Bake of the Progressive Association of Master Plumbers. Dated September 28, 1921, the image features numerous men in suits and women in period 1920s attire and wide-brimmed hats, arranged in several rows in an outdoor setting at Metz Grove. A building and trees are visible in the background. The photograph is housed in a period wide wooden frame with a dark burl-patterned veneer. 155- (photo 1). The following information is printed in white script along the bottom edge of the image: at the center, ANNUAL CLAM BAKE PROGRESSIVE ASSN. OF MASTER PLUMBERS (photo 5); to the left, METZ GROVE (photo 5); and to the right, SEPT 28 – 1921 (photo 5). In the far bottom right corner, a signature and telephone exchange read GUS. A.
