Description
A formal studio portrait of a mature woman, depicted in a three-quarter seated position. The subject wears a dark, collared jacket over a horizontally striped bodice, with hair styled in a light-colored updo characteristic of the late 19th or early 20th century. The photograph is a sepia-toned silver gelatin print. It is housed behind glass in a highly decorative repouss? white-metal frame, constructed with metal sheeting over a wooden core. The frame design features large acanthus leaf motifs in the corners and inner borders decorated with beaded and textured geometric patterns. 14×16
