Description

A collection of and woodworking and measuring tools comprising mallets, a marking gauge, and various folding and flat rules. The lot includes a large hardwood mallet with a tapered handle and a hanging hole at the terminal end. A smaller turned hardwood mallet or gavel features decorative incised bands on the barrel-shaped head and a turned handle. A wooden marking gauge is included, constructed with a metal thumb screw and a metal scribing pin. The measuring tools include a white-painted wooden zig-zag folding rule with metal hinges, marked STANLEY, No. 106, and MADE IN U.S.A. A second zig-zag rule is constructed of aluminum with steel hinges; the rule is marked with a vertical CRAFTSMAN stamp and the hinges are stamped OIL JOINTS. The collection also contains several wooden folding rules with brass and steel components, including a four-fold boxwood rule and others with large red numerals. Two flat wooden architectural or engineer scales are present, featuring multiple graduated scales including 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch increments. A yellow adhesive label on the white folding rule reads FOLDABLE R.
