Lot 270:
Set 13 Croquet Balls in Wire Basket
Sold for: $80
Description
A collection of thirteen turned wooden croquet balls presented in a rustic wirework basket. The balls are finished in various primary and secondary colors including red, yellow, blue, green, and orange. The basket is constructed of iron or steel wire with a scalloped top rim and integrated loop handles, resting on a flat base. A close-up of a yellow ball in image 3 shows faint, dark surface markings that appear to be accidental scuffs or residues rather than an intentional maker mark; these markings are not legible as characters or symbols. No other manufacturer marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the balls or the basket. Approximately 3 5/8 inches in diameter.
