Lot 223:
Description
This large decorative garden sculpture depicts a winged cherub or putto in a playful, reclined pose. The figure is modeled lying on its back with its knees drawn toward its chest and its head tilted back in a joyful expression with closed eyes. It is cast in a composite material, such as cast stone or concrete, and finished with a weathered, dark grey patina intended to resemble aged lead. The sculpture exhibits visible mold seams along the sides and back, which are characteristic of the casting process. The wings are folded underneath the figure, providing stability. The sculpture is presented resting on a separate, thin square base plate. No maker marks, signatures, or country-of-origin labels are visible on the exterior surfaces in the provided images. Length: Approximately 22 inches.
