Description
This collection of silver-plated and metal tablewares consists of four distinct pieces. The centerpiece is a silver-plated lidded pitcher featuring a footed base and a hinged top. The body is decorated with Victorian-style chasing and engraving, including ornate foliate scrollwork, floral motifs, and decorative cartouches. The handle is molded with foliate details. A stamped mark on the underside of the base shows the arched text WILCOX S. P. CO. above two crossed hammers and a line of text reading INTERNATIONAL S. CO., with the number 40 stamped below. Also included is a footed compote bowl with a scalloped rim on a circular pedestal foot, constructed of a matte gray metal. A shallow oval serving dish features a molded rim with scalloped and shell-like scrolls. The final piece is a lidded condiment jar with a clear glass body featuring an etched floral pattern and vertical fluting. The jar has a silver-plated hinged lid and includes a matching spoon with a shell-shaped bowl and a twisted wire handle. Pitcher height: approximately 6.5 inches to the top of the handle.
