Description

A round decorative bowl and two pieces of hand-painted stone fruit. The bowl is crafted from a composite material, likely paper-m?ch?, with a black lacquer-style finish and raised silver-toned floral and foliate motifs depicting chrysanthemums. The interior is finished in black and shows surface wear. The base features three circular indentations for feet; two small black pads are present and one is missing. There are no maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps visible on any part of the bowl. The two pieces of stone fruit consist of a pear and an apple carved from a white stone, possibly alabaster or soapstone. The pear has a stem made of twisted leather cord, and the apple has a dark wood or plastic stem. The bases of both fruits are flat and unpainted, revealing the white stone substrate. The bowl measures approximately 7.75 inches in diameter. The pear measures approximately 4 inches in height. The apple measures approximately 3.25 inches in diameter.
