Description
This railroad-style oil can is constructed from heavy-gauge sheet metal with a classic conical engineer design. The cylindrical body features the embossed characters PA. L.W. which identifies the piece as property of the Pennsylvania Lines West, a major division of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The vessel is designed with a tapering conical shoulder and a long, curved pouring spout for precision lubrication. It is equipped with a wire bail handle attached to two riveted metal brackets on the sides of the body. The construction includes visible vertical and horizontal soldered seams throughout.8×4
