Description
A three piece Victorian style carving set manufactured by Maurice Baum of Sheffield, England, comprising a carving knife, carving fork, and sharpening steel. The handles are constructed of carved ivory and decorated with turned fluting, circular indentations, and diamond pattern zones. The pieces feature white metal ferrules and gadrooned pommels. The fork includes a folding metal guard. The knife blade is stamped with an arched maker mark for Maurice Baum above a trade mark symbol and Sheffield. The sharpening steel is stamped with a crown and the words Cast Steel. The set is housed in its original wooden presentation case with a blue fabric lining.
