Description

This collection consists of five lithographed advertising tins featuring iconic American food and beverage brands, primarily issued as limited edition or anniversary commemoratives during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The lot includes: One Lipton’s Tea hinged-lid tin from the Lipton Nostalgic Tin Collection, Series #401, featuring an Edwardian-style tea scene on the lid and historical imagery of the 1915 San Francisco Exposition on the sides. One tall rectangular Ritz Crackers canister with a slip-on lid, dated 1986, featuring a red ground with the brand’s classic yellow and blue logo and a side panel detailing the story of Ritz. One Cracker Jack commemorative canister for the 100th anniversary (1893-1993) dated 1993, with Sailor Jack and Bingo on the lid and side panels depicting historical scenes. One Maxwell House 1892 blend 100th-anniversary tin, circa 1992, finished in deep blue with gold-tone accents and illustrations including President Theodore Roosevelt. One decorative green canister for Wildflower Seed Mix featuring Victorian-style floral illustrations and a woman in a garden setting. All items are constructed of lithographed tinplate. The interior of the Maxwell House tin contains contemporary tea packets and the Cracker Jack tin contains a piece of green felt.
