Description
A large nineteenth-century English copper tea kettle of traditional bulbous form. The vessel features a hand-wrought construction with visible brazed seams at the side and around the base. It is equipped with a matching copper lid featuring a central turned knob finial. The kettle is fitted with a fixed overhead handle supported by two curved flat-stock copper arms, joined by a wide cylindrical copper grip. A gooseneck spout is attached at the shoulder and terminates in a slightly flared tip. The construction demonstrates early manual assembly techniques typical of late Victorian metalwork. 10 in high.
