Description
This lot consists of two cast metal items manufactured by Wilton Armetale of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Both pieces are crafted from Armetale, a proprietary non-toxic aluminum-based alloy designed to resemble traditional pewter. The first item is an oval bread tray featuring a central raised relief scene of a farmer harvesting wheat with a scythe, accompanied by the inscription Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread in a blackletter-style font. The reverse of the tray is stamped with the maker marks Wilton Mount Joy PA USA and the RWP circular hallmark. The second item is a long-handled candle snuffer with an ergonomically curved handle. The handle features a recessed rectangular panel with the raised inscription In Appreciation The Hoover Company 1908-1978, identifying it as a corporate commemorative gift for the company 70th anniversary. Tray: approximately 9 inches x 6.5 inches Snuffer: approximately 9 inches long.
