Description
19×6 A large antique graniteware wash tub or basin featuring a cobalt blue and white marbleized swirl pattern. The piece is constructed of a heavy-gauge metal base, likely steel or iron, finished with a dipped and fired porcelain enamel coating. It is circular in form with a flared rim and two fixed, wire-style handles attached to the sides. The interior upper rim features small, faint impressed characters that appear to read G 1 1 I I F, likely representing production or batch stamps. The exterior and interior walls display the distinctive agateware style marbleized decoration typical of early 20th-century American enamelware.
