Description
A clear pressed glass footed cake stand featuring an intricate geometric pattern of starbursts and diamond-point quilting. The circular plate is decorated with a central sunburst rosette from which radiating panels of diamond-point quilting and stylized motifs emerge. The outer perimeter is composed of eight large circular medallions, each containing a multi-pointed starburst, terminating in a deep scalloped and beaded rim. The plate is supported by a short, faceted pedestal stem that flares into a circular foot. The base of the foot is decorated with a repeating pattern of four starburst medallions that echo the design on the main plate. Visible mold lines are present on the stem and foot, characteristic of the pressed glass manufacturing process. A small white adhesive label is affixed to the center of the plate upper surface with the handwritten text POTPOURRI / CAKE / PLATE. 9×4 inches
