Description
This lot contains an assortment of enamelware on steel featuring commercial advertising, maritime themes, and decorative patterns. A primary item is a large cylindrical Carnation Malted Milk advertising canister with a red and white body, featuring floral graphics and text identifying the Carnation Company of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and Seattle, Washington. The collection includes a pair of white enamel mugs for British Navy Pusser?s Rum, extensively decorated with transfer prints of maritime logos, Royal Navy traditional toasts, and rum terminology. These mugs are marked on the underside for The Pusser’s Company Store, with locations noted in Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Grand Bahama. Also featured is a tall, multi-part white enamel drip coffee pot decorated with two blue horizontal bands and a central geometric frieze of blue rectangles and red dots, complete with an internal filter insert and lid. A shallow decorative plate or bowl features a central floral wreath motif with Father inscribed in red script; the reverse contains a handwritten inscription in ink. The grouping is completed by a small blue and white splatterware lidded pot with a wire bail handle and turned wooden grip, a matching blue splatterware mug, and a green mug with large white polka dots.
