Description
This lot features a seven-piece collection of blue and white mottled enamelware, commonly referred to as graniteware or agateware. The set includes a variety of kitchen and utility forms: a large utility pail with a wire bail handle, a lidded coffee pot, a ring cake pan, a deep mixing bowl, a long-handled frying pan with a black enamel handle, and two handled mugs of varying sizes. Each item is constructed from formed sheet metal with a vitreous enamel coating. The distinctive aesthetic is created by applying a blue swirl or mottled top coat over a white base before firing, finished with black enamel accents along the rims. No manufacturer marks are visible on any of the pieces.
