Description

This hand-painted figurine is a Tom Clark creation for Cairn Studios, titled World War II Soldier and released in 1984 as part of the Taurus series. The sculpture is composed of a cast resin material specifically finished to resemble hand-carved wood. It depicts a middle-aged United States Army infantryman in a standing pose, leaning his right hand against a splintered tree stump. The figure is outfitted in historically inspired gear, including a textured M1 helmet, an M1943-style field jacket, and trousers tucked into canvas leggings. His field equipment features an M1923 cartridge belt with pouches, suspenders, a canteen pouch, and a first-aid pouch. He holds a pair of binoculars in his left hand. The integrated base is sculpted to represent a forest floor with fallen leaves and debris. An original paper label is affixed to the underside, identifying the piece as #328 and providing a narrative backstory for the character as a civilian enlistee. 13 inches
