Description
14×7.5 A mid-20th-century wall-mounted advertising bin constructed from lithographed galvanized sheet metal. The piece is designed in a tapered form to resemble a 100 lb. sack of livestock feed. The front face features an Americana color scheme of red, white, and blue, centered by a circular vignette containing a woodcut-style illustration of a bull head. Four red five-pointed stars flank the central graphic. The text includes arched lettering reading HOMER and CALF STARTER around the bull illustration, with 100 LBS. printed at the top. The lower section identifies the manufacturer as H. & G. FEED & SEED STORE INC. of MAYFIELD, KY. The reverse of the bin is flat and features two integrated keyhole mounting brackets and a length of hanging twine.
