Description
This lot consists of two antique iron padlocks of American origin, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The first is a lever-tumbler padlock identified by a raised rectangular plate on the front face embossed with the maker name CLIMAX. The lock is constructed of iron and includes an attached hand-forged iron chain with approximately six interlocking links. The second item is a large-scale iron padlock, commonly known as a smokehouse or story lock, featuring a rounded body and a thick shackle. It is equipped with a rectangular brass sliding keyhole cover. A single iron key with a circular bow is included with the larger lock. Climax lock: 3 inches H x 2.5 inches W Smokehouse lock: 6 inches H x 4.5 inches W.
