Description
A mid-century red metal ice chest manufactured by Poloron Products Inc. of New Rochelle, New York, branded as the Cola Cooler. The exterior features a red painted finish with white stenciled lettering on the front reading Cola Cooler, Fiberglass Insulated, Poloron Products Inc., New Rochelle, N.Y. The cooler is constructed with a galvanized metal interior liner and contains fiberglass insulation. Design elements include an embossed grid pattern on the lid and lower portion of the body, a heavy-gauge metal bail handle, a secondary metal latch handle on the lid, and an integrated bottle opener mounted to the side. A plastic drain plug is located at the base of one side. The item is accompanied by its original illustrated cardboard shipping and display box, which features black printed graphics including a cutaway illustration showing the cooler packed with supplies and text reading New Fiberglas Insulated Ice Chest.
