Description

A mid-century electric advertising wall clock manufactured by Tel-a-sign Inc. of Chicago for Johns-Manville Spintex Insulation. The piece is constructed with a hammered-finish metal housing and a convex glass face featuring reverse-painted graphics. The outer ring displays the Johns-Manville name and product line in white and yellow text. The central white dial is marked with numerals at the three, six, nine, and twelve positions, surrounding a yellow circle with the slogan It’s time to insulate and the JM Products logo. The back of the unit retains its original hanging chain and two identification labels: a gold Tel-a-sign Inc. maker label with a Chicago 9 postal zone and a blue and white Union Made label with serial number A 70541518. The clock is equipped with an original two-prong brown electrical cord. 19 inches – clock works but not the lights.
