Description

This auction lot features two vintage toy sets from the late 1960s to early 1980s. The first item is a large-scale plastic model kit of Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, manufactured by MPC, a brand of Fundimensions and a division of CPG Products Corp. The box bears a 1979 copyright for Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation. The kit is designed to be an illuminated model measuring over 18 inches in length, requiring two C-size batteries for the internal lighting features. It consists of light gray molded plastic hull components, various plastic sprues containing smaller parts, clear plastic elements, and an internal wiring harness. An original Join the Official Star Wars Fan Club paper insert is included. The second item is a Thing Ding building game, model number 710, manufactured by Schaper. The set centers around a mechanical, crank-operated Thing Ding machine housed in a red plastic frame with internal gears, a color dial, and a metal bell that rings during operation. The game includes a large assortment of interlocking plastic building pieces in green, blue, and orange, an internal cardboard sorting tray with die-cut silhouette shapes, and a paper blueprint instruction sheet detailing six different characters to build: Baby 1, Woman 2, Man 3, Cat 4, Bird 5, and Dog 6.
