Description
Three Cameo Doll Co. Kewpie character dolls featuring molded vinyl heads and hands with stuffed cloth bodies and legs. These googly-eyed dolls are based on the designs of Joseph Kallus. Each doll is characterized by molded and painted reddish-orange topknot hair, side-glancing painted eyes with prominent eyelashes, and a watermelon-style smile. The first doll is dressed in a light blue satin-weave dress featuring a ruffled skirt and white lace trim at the neck, cuffs, and hem, standing in white cloth-covered feet. The second doll wears a European-style dirndl outfit consisting of a pink puffed-sleeve blouse, a black lace-up vest, and a white apron decorated with small floral embroidery, paired with black vinyl shoes. The third doll is outfitted in a floral paisley-print dress in shades of mauve and blue, worn with a white lace-trimmed pinafore tied with a pink ribbon and black vinyl shoes. Each doll bears a molded mark on the back of the neck including the copyright symbol, the name Cameo, a letter B, and the date 11-7-67. Two dolls measure approximately 13 to 14 inches in height. One doll measures approximately 11 to 12 inches in height.
