Description
This Victorian-style "Gone with the Wind" (GWTW) parlor lamp, attributed to L.G. Wright, is constructed from amber satin (frosted) glass featuring the "Beaded Rose" pattern, also known as "Puffy Rose." The lamp consists of a matching globe shade and a bulbous base font, both decorated with deeply embossed, high-relief rose motifs. The glass components are mounted on an ornate cast metal footed base with an antiqued brass finish. A decorative pierced metal ring under the shade suspends a full complement of faceted clear glass crystal prisms. The lamp includes a central clear glass chimney. This item is electrified, featuring a brown two-prong cord and a turn-knob power switch on the base. The design is characteristic of mid-20th-century reproductions produced for L.G. Wright by companies such as Fenton Art Glass or Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company. No manufacturer marks or signatures were identified on the piece.
