Description
This lot features a collection of vintage softbound sheet music and instructional volumes, predominantly from the early 20th century. Featured pedagogical works include Friedrich Burgmuller’s 25 Etudes Faciles, Op. 100, published by Volkwein Bros. (Edition Wood No. 31) and Jean-Baptiste Duvernoy’s Ecole du Mecanisme, Op. 120 (Edition Wood No. 80). The collection includes numerous Unexcelled Edition sheet music pieces published by The Standard Music Publishing Co. and Morris Music Co. of Philadelphia. Titles include Eduardo Di Capua’s O’ Sole Mio!, Donizetti’s Sextet from Lucia, Brinsley Richards’ Warblings at Eve, J. Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann (Barcarolle), Charles H. Maskell’s Love Memories, J. F. Wagner’s Under the Double Eagle March, Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, and Christian Sinding’s Rustle of Spring. Several arrangements specify ukulele accompaniment. Choral music is represented by the Anthology of Classics for Three Female Voices, arranged by William Stickles and published by Chappell and Co. A Century Certified Edition advertisement indicates a 1931 publication date for some materials. The volumes are folio-sized and produced for the general commercial music market.
