Description
A group of seventeen carved and polished mineral spheres of varying sizes and geological compositions. The collection features a diverse range of gemstones and natural stones characterized by unique colors and patterns. Identifiable specimens include various forms of agate and chalcedony, notably banded blue lace agate and a larger grey agate sphere with white and reddish-brown inclusions. Jasper specimens include a tan orbicular variety resembling poppy jasper, a reddish-brown picture jasper, and solid red jasper. The collection contains a large deep blue sodalite sphere with characteristic white veining and a large deep red specimen consistent with almandine garnet. Translucent specimens include a yellowish-green calcite or onyx sphere and a peach-orange calcite sphere. Additionally, the set includes a small bloodstone (heliotrope) sphere with red jasper inclusions, speckled grey and black stones resembling granite or larvikite, and solid black spheres consistent with obsidian or black onyx. A pale blue specimen resembling amazonite or quartz is also present. Diameters range from approximately 1 inch to over 2.5 inches.
