Description
This group of vintage hand-painted hollow-cast lead figures and scenery was manufactured by W. Britain in London, England. The collection comprises components from two separate sets identified as the Model Farm and the Zoological Series. The farm-themed items include two human figures, two horses, a cow, a bull, a pig, a dog, multiple sheep, a hen, and two flat-cast trees. The zoological items feature an elephant, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, ostrich, llama, sable antelope, wildebeest, walrus, and a monkey. The internal cardboard backing cards are stamped with Manufactured by W Britain in London England Trade Mark Regd No 459993. The items are presented with their original internal backing cards and two original outer box lids featuring illustrated labels for Britains Model Farm and Britains Zoological Series. Many of the figures remain attached to the backing cards via original cords.
