Description
9×11 This is a hand-carved and painted wooden folk art figure depicting a swan. The swan features a long, curved neck, a painted black facial mask, and a red-painted beak. The bird is mounted onto a stylized, multi-tiered wooden base. The upper tier of the base is painted red with black accents, while the middle section is a flared, upward-curving wooden element with black linear borders. The entire sculpture rests on a rectangular wooden pedestal block featuring a black-outlined decorative frame on the front face. The swan’s body shows a cream-colored painted finish over a white gesso-like undercoat. No maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the exterior of the object.
