Description
47 in. This antique one-man crosscut saw is constructed with a tapered steel blade featuring a perforated lance tooth pattern, designed for clearing sawdust while cutting green timber. The tool is equipped with a traditional carved wooden D-style handle at the heel. It also features a supplementary vertical wooden handle, often referred to as a climax handle, mounted to the top edge of the blade near the grip to allow for two-handed operation by a single user. A circular metal medallion is present on the primary wooden handle, though the surface is worn and no manufacturer names or symbols are legible. The toe of the blade includes a pre-drilled hole for hanging storage or for attaching a secondary handle for two-person use. A modern auction inventory tag is attached to the handle.
