Description
This Margarete Steiff Puppe series doll, identified as Babette or Milk Babette, features a vinyl head with fixed blue-grey eyes and a blonde wig styled with bangs and two long braids secured with red ribbons. The doll is constructed with a soft, jointed cloth or felt body. She wears an original European traditional style outfit including a blue and white checkered pinafore dress over a white long-sleeved blouse with lace trim at the collar and cuffs, and white lace-trimmed bloomers. Accessories include a large wide-brimmed straw hat and a miniature metal milk canister held in her right hand. Footwear consists of red socks and woven straw-style shoes. Visible markings include a circular yellow cardboard chest tag printed with Babette and the Steiff bear logo with the text KNOPF IM OHR. The original illustrated cardboard display box features the Steiff logo and a red ribbon graphic printed with Margarete Steiff Puppe. A small white price tag is attached to the right shoulder.
