Description
A collection of US Statehood quarters featuring various reverse designs issued between 2000 and 2003. The group includes multiple examples of the 2002 Ohio "Birthplace of Aviation Pioneers" issue. Other states represented in the lot include New Hampshire (2000), Virginia (2000), Massachusetts (2000), Rhode Island (2001), New York (2001), Vermont (2001), Kentucky (2001), and Alabama (2003). Each coin is composed of cupronickel-clad copper. Reverse designs feature state-specific motifs and inscriptions including the state name, year of statehood, year of issuance, "E PLURIBUS UNUM, " and various mottos such as "LIVE FREE OR DIE, " "THE OCEAN STATE, " "GATEWAY TO FREEDOM, " "JAMESTOWN 1607-2007," "THE BAY STATE, " "FREEDOM AND UNITY, " "MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME, " and "SPIRIT OF COURAGE." The majority of the coins are housed in individual 2×2 white cardboard and mylar coin flips, while one coin is loose.
