Description
11x9x5 A two-piece covered glass dish crafted in the form of a standing rooster. The item is made of opaque light green pressed glass, a material frequently referred to as jadeite or jade glass by collectors. The assembly consists of a lid and a matching pedestal base. The lid is molded in the shape of a rooster with detailed textural representations of feathers, a large upright tail, and a prominent comb and wattle. The base features an oval bowl with a fluted exterior that tapers to a pedestal stem. The circular foot of the pedestal is decorated with molded avian claw motifs. This design is consistent with molds produced by the Imperial Glass Company, although no maker marks are visible on the interior or exterior surfaces.
