Description
A pair of antique French opera glasses manufactured by Marchand, Paris. The instrument features a brass frame with an aged patina and barrels paneled in iridescent mother-of-pearl shell. The eyepiece surrounds are similarly faced with mother-of-pearl. The brass bridge bears a personalized engraving with the name ALLIE positioned under a decorative sunburst motif, and the inscription Age 26 in cursive script. The right eyepiece rim is incised with the maker mark MARCHAND PARIS. The instrument utilizes a center-wheel focusing mechanism with a ridged white adjustment knob.
