Description
15.5 inches – 15 discs. This collection consists of five stamped steel projection discs manufactured by The Regina Music Box Co. of Rahway, New Jersey. These discs were designed for use in a 15.5-inch Regina disc-playing music box. Each disc features a series of stamped-out projections on the reverse side intended to engage with the music box’s star wheel mechanism. The upper surfaces are decorated with lithographed banners and a trademark crest featuring a lyre and foliage marked REGINA TRADE MARK. The identified titles and catalog numbers in this lot include: No. 1198: The Spanish Cavalier, Song No. 1481: She May Have Seen Better Days, Song (Thornton, Used by arrangement with T.B. Harms & Co.) No. 1864: Hymn From Huguenots, Meyerbeer No. 1587: Title illegible The discs bear various inscriptions including COPYRIGHTED BY THE REGINA MUSIC BOX CO. with dates of 1896 and 1897. Patent information is listed as U.S. PATENTS DATED DECEMBER 17, 1889 and JUNE 27, 1893.
