Description
This collection consists of four Native North American lithic artifacts. Two of the specimens are professionally authenticated and accompanied by Certificates of Authenticity from Ken Partain. The first documented artifact is an Atlantic Phase Blade crafted from yellow-brown jasper, originating from Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It is identified as a Late Archaic period tool, approximately 4,300 to 3,700 years old, characterized by a broad triangular body and a straight, tapered stem. Documentation indicates this piece was previously sold at a Jim Bennett auction in March 2012. The second documented artifact is a Wade projectile point made from gray hornstone chert, recovered from Butler County, Kentucky. This specimen dates to the Late Archaic or Early Woodland period (4,500 to 2,500 years old) and features corner notches with a straight to slightly expanded stem. The blade shows evidence of significant prehistoric resharpening and use-wear. This point is noted as being from the ex-Jim Bennett collection. The lot also includes two additional lithic points housed in individual labeled plastic bags. One bag bears the handwritten notation Ken Partain Clora Flow and contains a dark gray notched point. The second bag is marked 920A19 Stutts ebola and His, containing a broad brown lithic specimen. Atlantic Phase Blade: 73 mm x 49 mm Wade Point: 50 mm x 36 mm.
