Description
A vintage nativity creche set consisting of a rustic stable and 14 separate pieces. The stable structure is constructed from wood, cork, and various composite materials with a textured, painted finish and straw accents. The collection of molded composition figurines includes Mary, Joseph, a removable Baby Jesus, a wooden manger, the Three Magi, two shepherds, three cattle, one donkey, and two sheep. Each figure is hand-painted in a traditional style with a matte finish. The wooden manger features the mark ITALY painted in white on one side. The style and materials of the set are consistent with mid-20th-century Italian imports frequently associated with makers such as Fontanini.
