Lot 201:
Description
This collection includes two original retail boxes of vintage glass Christmas ornaments of European origin. The first set, branded as Santa’s World, contains six bell-shaped ornaments crafted from blown glass with a vibrant red mercury-style finish. Each bell is decorated with gold-toned glitter snowflake motifs and a matching glittered rim. The ornaments are fitted with silver-toned metal caps and wire hanging loops. The original box is printed with the Santa’s World logo and notes the items were made by European craftsmen. The second set consists of three hand-decorated figural ornaments created for Commodore Mfg. Corp. of Brooklyn, New York. These ornaments were made in Romania and include a soldier with a black hat, a figure with a white fuzzy beard and trim, and a figure featuring a silvered face and a tall white fuzzy hat. The figures are finished in an orange-red lacquer with hand-painted facial features and applied mohair-style trim. This set is housed in its original cardboard box, labeled as model No. 7270 C.
