Description
74×90 This is a vintage hand-stitched appliqued quilt dating from the mid-20th century, circa 1930s to 1950s. The quilt is constructed with a white cotton ground featuring a large-scale floral medallion design. The pattern consists of stylized six-petaled flowers and accompanying leaves arranged in a circular wreath. The floral motifs are created using the applique technique, where fabric pieces are sewn onto the base cloth and finished with decorative blue and purple blanket stitching. The leaves and stems are accented with green embroidery. The quilt is hand-quilted throughout. The background quilting pattern includes radiating straight lines from the center and contour quilting that follows the shapes of the floral appliques. The reverse side is plain white cotton.
